Correspondent Roger Maynardhas filmed the 'replica of Bligh's rowing boat put thru its paces on Sydney Harbour':
On April 28, 1789 William Bligh and 18 men were cast adrift during the Mutiny on the Bounty and then set sail from Tonga to Timor on an epic voyage of survival. On April 28, 2010, adventurers Don McIntyre, English sailor David Wilkinson, US sailor and businessman Peter Stier and the youngest ever solo circumnavigator, 17 year-old Briton Mike Perham, will attempt to re-create the same voyage. The rowing boat, which is smaller than the original, will be packed and shipped to Tonga this weekend in readiness for the crossing. The crew will rely on 18th century navigation equipment and will not enjoy the benefit of charts, modern watches or compass light.
